Daily yoga classes work in conjunction with the ashram schedule to help your body reconnect with the natural rhythms of nature so that your mind can become more restful and present.

Whether you are new to yoga or a well-established practitioner, the Yoga Vacation Program will help you quickly find your way back to balance in an optimal environment for spiritual growth, healing, and relaxation where you are surrounded by a nurturing, supportive community. The best part? The tools you learn will last you a lifetime and the benefits of the ashram will continue to uplift your being long after you’ve concluded your stay.

The ashram is all-inclusive, offering a private beach, delicious food, 2 daily yoga classes, 2 daily satsangs (communal events with joyous chanting, meditation, and spiritual lectures), and various workshops with acclaimed presenters. Each year, we invite hundreds of guest presenters to the ashram (scholars, spiritual teachers, scientists, and artists) to offer a rich tapestry of engaging talks, performances, and workshops as part of the Yoga Vacation Program. Yoga Vacationers are invited to follow the ashram’s Daily Schedule, which includes plenty of time for the beach as well as socializing, learning, and relaxing.  As a spiritual learning center and community, we request that all guests attend morning and evening satsang and both yoga class per day to make the most of their stay and contribute to the community experience.

Morning Start the day at 6:00 a.m. with the serenity of early morning meditation. The clear sea air and radiant dawn aid the mind to focus and the body to be still. Half an hour of silent meditation is followed by joyful chanting, a spiritual talk or reading, and closing prayers. Next at 8:00 a.m. comes a two-hour class of asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (yogic breathing techniques), and relaxation that invigorates and refreshes the body and mind. Brunch awaits at 10:00 a.m.

Midday Create your own optimal afternoon schedule. Take an experiential workshop, attend a lecture or enjoy a healing art session. Study, swim, relax on the beach, or go snorkeling. Have a snack break at the Health Hut, meet new or old friends or take time to read a book in the tropical gardens.

Afternoon Start the third part of your day with a 4:00 p.m. yoga class. Feel how your body achieves maximum stretch at this time and the great progress that can be made. Observe as your breath gets calmer and your mind clearer in the serenity of your afternoon practice. Dinner will await you at 6:00 p.m. After dinner, take an early evening walk on the beach, enjoying the beautiful sunset.

Evening Satsang (meditation, chanting and talk) completes the day at 8:00 p.m. During the evening satsang we usually enjoy a concert, a dance performance or a talk by one of our special guests. Lights-off is around 10:00 p.m.



The Yoga Vacation program is included in our all-inclusive accommodation rates, which include meals, yoga classes, satsangs, and daily Yoga Vacation workshops, as well as access to our beautiful beach and the ashram grounds and amenities.

The individual Yoga Vacation programs listed in the calendar consist of a combination of morning or evening satsang presentations or performances and/or workshops offered at noon and/or 2:00 pm. These are included in the all-inclusive accommodations rates.

Accommodations

Our housing options are designed for a range of budgets and personal needs and vary from self-pitched tents to luxurious beachfront suites to comfortable cabins. All of our accommodations are welcoming and simple, and the diverse spectrum allows you to relax and enjoy your time with us at the ashram.

Payments We accept Visa and MasterCard. We do not accept American Express, Discover, personal checks, or travelers checks. All deposits and payments in US dollars only.

Deposits To guarantee your reservation, a $300 deposit is required. The balance is due at least 14 days before your arrival; we will send you an email reminder a week before we process the balance.

Rooms are available for single or double occupancy. Prices are listed per night, per room and are in US dollars. Rates include accommodations, meals, yoga classes, satsangs, and Yoga Vacation workshops. A Bahamian VAT tax of 10% will be added.

Beachfront Deluxe

Delight in breathtaking, wide-open views of the sparkling ocean from your own beachfront private balcony. Our Beachfront Deluxe Rooms are simple and spacious, furnished with two double beds and include a private bathroom with shower and tub. You will have a miniature refrigerator, kitchen sink, tea kettle, and tableware. These rooms are air-conditioned and available for reservations of at least two adults.

  • Oceanview Deluxe Twin Room

Relax into gorgeous views of the turquoise ocean from your balcony, and be within a stone’s throw distance from our beachfront yoga platform. Choose from either one king bed or two extra-long twin beds, and enjoy your own private bathroom with shower and tub. These spacious rooms also have a rocking chair, desk, and kitchen area with a small refrigerator, kitchen sink, tea kettle, and tableware. Fully air-conditioned, these rooms are available for reservations of at least two adults.

Double Bed Room

The Classic Room with Double Bed allows for single or couples occupancy. They feature one double bed, simple furnishings, and air conditioning. Situated in various locations throughout the ashram, shared bathrooms are always close by.

Single Room

Ideal for solo travelers, our Single Room offers a comfortable space with one bed, simple furnishings, and air conditioning. Single rooms are situated in various locations throughout the ashram, including within our main building. Depending on the location of your room, various shared bathrooms are available within a few seconds walking distance.

Beach Hut (private)

Fall asleep to the relaxing sounds of ocean waves. Our Beach Huts with with two single beds are comfortable, simple, and seconds from the beach. These rooms feature simple furnishings, and air-conditioning. Full bathrooms are located within one minute’s walk from your room.

Twin Bed Room

These Garden Rooms are situated within various locations of the ashram. Featuring two single beds and air conditioning, these rooms are simply furnished with shared bathrooms nearby. If you choose this room as a solo traveler, you can expect to share it with a roommate of the same gender.

Tent Hut Double Bed

Perfect for couples and close friends, our Tent Hut with Double Beds feature one double bed and allow you to sleep in the Bahamas breeze. Sized for two people, these Tent Huts are comfortably furnished with a simple closet, nightstand with bedside lamp and fan, and electrical outlets. Towels and bedding are provided for you, and shared bathrooms are a short walk away. Tent Huts are available from November through June.

Tent Space

Many of our guests are nature lovers. Set up your tent near the beach, bay, or amongst the palm trees. Create your own sacred space within in the ashram to reconnect with nature and sleep close to the earth. And you won’t be completely alone — get ready to meet “tent neighbors” from around the world! Bring your own tent (sized up to 8’x8’), camping gear, mattress, bedding, and towels. Tent Spaces are available from November through May.

Swami Vishnudevananda’s Five Points of Yoga

 

Swami Vishnudevananda created the Yoga Vacation Program so that people could return from a vacation truly relaxed and renewed. His Five Points of Yoga are built into each day at the ashram and offer you an immersion in a yogic lifestyle.

  • Proper Exercise: Yoga exercises focus on the health of the spine, its strength and flexibility. By maintaining the spine’s flexibility and strength through exercise, circulation is increased and the nerves receive their proper supply of nutrients and oxygen. The exercises also affect the internal organs and endocrine system.
  • Proper Breathing: Yoga teaches us how to maximize lung capacity and how to control the breath. This increases vitality and mental clarity.
  • Proper Relaxation: By learning how to deeply relax all the muscles of the body, you can thoroughly rejuvenate your nervous system and attain a deep sense of inner peace. Yoga teaches us how to achieve this state of complete relaxation.
  • Proper Diet: The Yogic diet is a vegetarian one, consisting of pure, simple, natural foods which are easily digested and promote health. The Yogic diet will help you attain a high standard of health, keen intellect and serenity of mind.
  • Positive Thinking and Meditation: We become what we think. Through methods of positive thinking you will learn how to entertain positive and creative thoughts which contribute to vibrant health and a peaceful, joyful mind. Meditation opens the door to intuitive knowledge and realms of eternal bliss. The mind becomes calm and steady.

 



Plan your Yoga Vacation for any time of the year — it’s always perfect here in Paradise! You can participate in the Yoga Vacation Program for any length of time; even a weekend stay will recharge your body, mind and soul! If you’ve had little previous exposure to yoga and wish to get the most out of your visit, we recommend that you plan a one- or two-week yoga getaway. This ensures that you will experience the equivalent to 3-6 months of weekly yoga classes.
