Yoga Vacation Program
September 13 — 15, 2024

Writing as a Spiritual Practice

Dayna Macy

Discover your authentic voice and unleash your creativity in this heartfelt workshop. Together, we will use lines of poetry as prompts to inspire our writing. By writing quickly and steadily, we will bypass our inner critics and tap into our deeply held stories, sharing them with compassion. This is a space free of ambition and judgment, focused solely on expression and connection.

Offered as 3 satsangs and 2 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with an 8pm satsang on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay. We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your program for the optimal experience.

Dayna Macy is the Founder of Women’s Writing Circles, an essayist, and the author of “Ravenous: A Food Lover’s Journey from Obsession to Freedom”.

Her writing circles offer a simple and beautiful process for people to meet their true selves on the page. Using lines of poetry as prompts, she encourages people to write quickly and steadily, helping students bypass their egos and inner critics in order to discover their authentic voice. She uses this practice in her own work because “it helps me know myself better and meet the world in a clearer and kinder way.”

She was formerly the head of communications departments for such media companies as Salon.com, Yoga Journal, The Shift Network, and more. She is currently at work on her second memoir.
