Jaya Canterbury-Counts, M.Ed, earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology before moving to the Kashi Ashram to live with her guru, Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, who taught her “there are no throwaway people.” She coordinates service programs for the River Fund in Uganda, India, and the United States.
