
Although best known as a yoga therapist for books and teachings on Yoga and mental
health, including Yoga for Depression (Harmony Books), Yoga Skills for Therapists
(W.W. Norton), and Yoga for Your Mood Deck (Sounds True/MacMillan), Amy’s
passion, from an early age has been writing fiction like her novel Temple Dancer
(Tumamoc Press). This means that given the rejections a creative writer faces, and her
history of childhood trauma, she suffered from depression; that is until she began a daily
yoga practice in the late 80’s.
She founded the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute in 2004, because she is passionate about sharing the practices that saved her life with health care and yoga professionals, thousands of whom she’s trained to integrate yoga-based practices into their healing work. Currently, she teaches Internal Family Systems (IFS) combined with LifeForce Yoga and offers mental health modules in yoga therapy trainings. She thrives in Tucson,
