We welcome everyone to the ashram and offer a range of program and accommodation options. Please note that all guests must be registered for a program during their stay. The total cost of your stay at the Yoga Retreat is based on your choice of program and accommodations. Use the tabs below for more information. Accommodations
Our housing options are designed for a range of budgets and personal needs and range from self-pitched tents to comfortable cabins to luxurious beachfront suites. All of our accommodations are welcoming and simple, allowing you to relax and enjoy your time with us at the Ashram.

- Accommodation rates are all-inclusive for our Yoga Vacation Program.
- Courses, cleanses, and trainings have an additional tuition.
- Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course rates are all-inclusive.
- Minimum 2-night stay year-round.

Payments We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We do not accept American Express, personal checks, or travelers checks. All deposits and payments in US dollars only.
Deposits To guarantee your reservation, a $300 deposit is required. The balance is due 14 days before your arrival. If the booking is made within 14 days of arrival, the full balance is due at the time of booking.

Rooms are available for single or double occupancy. Prices are listed per night, per room and are in US dollars. Rates include accommodations, meals, yoga classes, satsangs, and Yoga Vacation workshops. A Bahamian VAT tax of 10% will be added.

Beachfront Deluxe
Delight in breathtaking, wide-open views of the sparkling ocean from your own beachfront private balcony. Our Beachfront Deluxe Rooms are simple and spacious, furnished with two double beds and include a private bathroom with shower and tub. You will have a miniature refrigerator, kitchen sink, tea kettle, and tableware. These rooms are fully air-conditioned; bedding and one towel set per person are provided (incl. bath towel and beach towel).

Oceanview Deluxe
Relax into gorgeous views of the turquoise ocean from your balcony, and be within a stone’s throw distance from our beachfront yoga platform. Choose from either one king bed or two extra-long twin beds, and enjoy your own private bathroom with shower and tub. These spacious rooms also have a rocking chair, desk, and kitchen area with a small refrigerator, kitchen sink, tea kettle, and tableware. These rooms are fully air-conditioned; bedding and one towel set per person are provided (incl. bath towel and beach towel).

Bayside Room with Bath
These rooms have two single beds and a private bathroom with shower and tub. Within a short distance of the bay, these rooms include simple furnishings, a small refrigerator, tea kettle, and air conditioning. Bedding and one bath towel per person are provided.

Beach Hut East

Double Bed Room

Single Room
Ideal for solo travelers, our Single Room offers a comfortable space with one single bed, simple furnishings, and air conditioning. Single rooms are situated in various locations throughout the Ashram, including within our main building. Depending on the location of your room, various shared bathrooms are available within a few seconds walking distance. Bedding and one bath towel are provided.

Spacious Twin Bed Room
A Spacious Twin Bed Room contains two single beds with the option to add a cot for a third person. These rooms are sold for single, double, or triple occupancy. They are located in various parts of the Ashram, and shared bathrooms are nearby. Bedding and one bath towel per person are provided.

Tent Hut Double Bed
Perfect for couples and close friends, our Tent Hut with Double Beds feature one double bed and allow you to sleep in the Bahamas breeze. Sized for two people, these Tent Huts are comfortably furnished with a simple closet, nightstand with bedside lamp and fan, and electrical outlets. Bedding and one bath towel per person are provided for you, and shared bathrooms are a short walk away. Tent Huts are available from November until June.

Tent Hut Single
Sleep in the fresh, tropical air while still enjoying indoor comforts — including one single bed, electrical outlet, simple furnishings, and a nightstand with bedside lamp and fan. It’s the easiest camping you’ll ever do, while you’re safely surrounded by your Tent Hut neighbors. Bedding and one bath towel are provided for you, and shared bathrooms are a short walk away. Tent Huts are available from November until June.

Tent Space
Many of our guests are nature lovers. Set up your tent near the beach, bay, or amongst the palm trees. Create your own sacred space within in the Ashram to reconnect with nature and sleep close to the earth. And you won’t be completely alone — get ready to meet “tent neighbors” from around the world!
Bring your own tent (sized up to 8’x8’), camping gear, mattress, bedding, and towels.
Tent Spaces are available from November through May.

Payment Policies
Payment Policy
Deposits
To guarantee your reservation, a $300 (USD) deposit is required per reservation. The remaining balance is due at least 14 days before your arrival. If the booking is made within 14 days of arrival, the full balance is due at the time of booking.
Payments
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We do not accept personal checks, travelers checks, or American Express. All deposits and payments are in US dollars only.
Splitting Payments / Using a Different Credit Card for the Balance
The balance payment will automatically be charged to the credit card on file 14 days prior to arrival. Guests who wish to split the payment or pay with a different card must complete the payment prior to the 14-day deadline; otherwise, the card on file will be charged. Paying with a different card (including splitting a payment) can be done using the Guest Statement link provided in the confirmation email.
Paying with Credit on File
Booking more than 14 days in advance: If your stay’s total will be greater than [your credit note + $300], go ahead and book online with a deposit. The credit note on file will be applied toward the remaining balance.
Booking 14 days or less in advance OR your stay’s total is less than [your credit note + $300]: Email Reservations ([email protected]) with your name, desired stay dates and accommodation type, and the names of any guests in your party (plus ages if the guests are children under 12).
Guests who wish to pay with credit on file must contact Reservations to apply the credit. Unfortunately, we cannot refund a payment to apply a credit note retroactively.
A reminder: Voucher Credits are valid until December 14th, 2024 – three years from the Ashram’s post-pandemic reopening date of December 14th, 2021. Thank you for your continued support!
Flexible Cancellation Policy
Refunds
Refunds are available under the following terms and conditions:
- Cancellation 31 or more days prior to the scheduled arrival date—guests can opt for a full refund less a $55 processing fee OR for a full credit note.
- Cancellation between 48 hours and 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival date—We will refund any payment made towards the reservation less the $300 deposit (which becomes a credit note). However, you’re welcome and encouraged to forgo the refund for a full credit note.
Refunds are not available under the following conditions:
- Cancellation within 48 hours of arrival—full credit note; no refunds are available.
- Any changes after check-in strictly result in a credit note—no refunds are available.
- No show* (did not cancel or cancelled after scheduled arrival date)—no refund, no credit note.
Refunds will be given solely by way of crediting the credit card used for the applicable payment. A processing fee in the amount of USD $55 per reservation will be due in conjunction with any cancellation, in addition to any amount due.
* We understand that flight delays and circumstances beyond anyone’s control can impact travel (ex. snow storm, pandemic outbreak). If this happens, please keep us proactively informed so we can work with you regarding your payment and booking.
No show means that no notice was received by the Reservations team about the need to cancel or reschedule, or it was only received after the scheduled arrival date. No notice + no show = no refund + no credit note.
Credit Notes
Credit Notes are credited as follows:
- Yoga Vacation Reservation: A credit note will be issued in an amount equal to the amount paid for the cancelled accommodations portion of your original reservation.
- Teacher Training Course/Advanced Teacher Training Course: A credit note will be issued in an amount equal to the amount paid for the cancelled portion of the course.
- Other Courses: A credit note will be issued in an amount equal to the unused accommodation fees only. No credit note or refunds will be given for the tuition amount.
Credit Note Terms and Conditions:
- Credit notes are valid for two years from the date of issue.
- Credit notes are non-refundable but are transferable as of January 2021. If you know someone who would benefit from our online programs or a future trip, we are happy to transfer your existing credit into their name.
- Credit notes can be applied only at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat, Nassau, Bahamas.
- Credit notes can be used for accommodations, onsite course tuition, or applied to any of our online offerings (other than online certified training programs).
- Please note that the credit note cannot be used for treatments at our Well Being Center or at the Boutique.
- When making your new booking you will need to pay a new deposit but the credit can be applied to the final balance.
Please contact us if you’d like to transfer your credit into another person’s name or if you’ve been unable to use your credit note in the allotted time due to travel restrictions. In some cases, we will be happy to extend the credit note by an additional 12+ months.
Please note: No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content, or due to dissatisfaction with the Yoga Retreat’s schedule or accommodations.
Families
Families with children are welcome at the Yoga Retreat year-round as part of the Yoga Vacation Program. Several Family Programs are offered at the Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years, and Easter/Passover holidays. Please see our Program Calendar to find more information.
Children’s Rates
For children staying in their parents’ room only (age at the time of arrival): Age 4 and under: Free Ages 5–11: Add $50 + tax per child per night to your booking Age 12 and older: Standard adult accommodation rates Please note:
- Baby cribs are available for $15 a night (plus a 10% Bahamian tax).
- High chairs and infant life vests are not available at the ashram, please come prepared.
- Children staying in their own room will be charged the full adult rate for the room.
- Children under 12 must have adult supervision. The Ashram does not provide daycare services.
Special Offers and Discounts
Summer Getaway Rates
From June 10 – October 31 all rooms are offered at a discounted rate compared with the winter pricing (November 1 – June 9). See the Accommodations tab for the price list.
Group Accommodation Discounts
- 10% discount for groups of 10 or more
- 15% discount for groups of 20 or more
Group discounts apply only to accommodation rates and only if all members of the group register and pay together as a group for the same time period. Only one type of discount may be taken, including special promotions.
The Ashram is happily accepting day visitors!
Day Guests/Drop-In Rates
If you live in the area or you’re just passing through, consider joining us for the day. We are happy to welcome people who would like to participate in the ashram’s educational activities and share a meal with us!
Day Pass
The cost of a Day Pass is $45 per day (plus a 10% Bahamian tax). This price includes two meals, two Yoga classes, Yoga Vacation workshops, and two satsangs.
Drop-In
Join us for a Yoga class, or Yoga followed by a meal. $20 (plus tax) for one activity (yoga class or a meal) or $30 (plus tax) for two activities (yoga class and a meal).
Multi-Use Passes
Planning to come for yoga class a few days in a row, or do you live in The Bahamas and you’re looking for a Saturday morning getaway? Consider purchasing an activity pass. Passes cost $60 (plus tax) for 5 activities or $120 (plus tax) for 10 activities. They are valid for one year from the purchase date and can be used to pay for Yoga classes, meals, and workshops.
Here’s what you need to know:

- Please ensure you speak with Reception on the phone the day before to notify us of your visit: 1-242-426-6780.
- Reservation emails ([email protected]) and phone calls are not closely monitored after Friday at 12pm.
- The notice ensures that our kitchen prepares sufficient servings to accommodate you at meal times.

Except for the 7:40 AM staff boat, boats are not running unless they are pre-coordinated. The boat times for Nassau pick-up and drop-off are: 7:40 AM* *Must come on time because this is also the staff boat 11:00 AM 3:30 PM 6:30 PM The front desk can arrange the boat to take you back to Nassau according to the schedule once you’re onsite. Which rooms have private bathrooms?
Beachfront Deluxe rooms, Oceanview Deluxe rooms, and Bayside Rooms with Bath all have ensuite private bathrooms. All other accommodations are within a one-minute walk of shared restrooms.
I’m travelling with my family. Which rooms are best for that?
The Beachfront Deluxe rooms can fit four people while the Oceanview Deluxe rooms can fit three. Both of these room options have a balcony and private bathroom. Another option is the spacious twin bed room, which can fit three people (two single beds plus one cot). These rooms are located throughout the Ashram and within a one-minute walk of shared washrooms.
What is the difference between a Beachfront Deluxe room and an Oceanview Deluxe room?
Great question! These rooms are quite comparable: private bathroom, balcony, provisioned with beach towels and a tea kettle, located close to the ocean. The key differences are the bed arrangement, the color of the wood floors, and proximity to the yoga platform. Oceanview Deluxe rooms are close to the yoga platform. They can be arranged with two twin beds or one king bed, with space to add a cot or crib. Beachfront Deluxe rooms are further from the main concourse and therefore more secluded. They have two double beds and room for a cot or crib (no king bed option).
Do I need to bring towels or bedding? What comes with the room?

All of the rooms and tent huts are within a 5-minute walk of the beach, dining area, harbor, and yoga platforms. Rooms without private bathrooms are within a 1-minute walk of communal washrooms. Toiletries (shampoo, bath soap, toothpaste, etc.) are not included in the rooms – please pack accordingly or plan to purchase in the Boutique. There is a communal ironing board in the guest laundry room. No hair dryers available. Deluxe rooms and Bayside rooms are provided with hand soap. Tent huts have electricity, a lamp, a fan, and basic furnishings (bed, wardrobe, bookshelf).
What is included in the accommodations price?
In addition to the room itself, the accommodations price includes the following:
- Two delicious, homemade vegetarian meals
- Two daily yoga classes (morning and afternoon)
- Yoga Vacation Program workshop (midday)
- Satsangs

Will I share the room with a stranger?
The Ashram used to offer dormitory-style accommodations in which guests booked one bed in a shared room and were open to sharing with a stranger (also called a friend waiting to happen). Since March 2020, this has not been an option. All rooms are now private, meaning that you’ll stay by yourself or with your chosen travel companions.
