Detox Dandelion Green Smoothie
Spring is the time to lighten up! As far as a successful detox goes, leafy greens play a key role. Dandelion greens have especially powerful detox properties, and you can buy them inexpensively in a store, or even pick them from your own yard or garden.
Dandelion greens are filled with antioxidants and vitamins A, C, E, and K. They also contain high amounts of calcium, iron, manganese, and fiber.
This smoothie includes both sweet and tart flavors to counter the dandelion’s bitter taste. But if your tastebuds can handle bitter, you can swap out the banana for some more greens!
Smoothies are a great way to sneak more greens into your diet. Try our recipe to disguise your bitter greens with sweetness.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup non-dairy milk or filtered water
- 1-2 cups dandelion greens
- 1 nectarine or peach
- 1 ripe banana (frozen if you want a colder smoothie)
- 1/2-1 cup strawberries
Recipe:
- Put all ingredients into a blender.
- Add ice (or not)
- Blend until smooth.
- Enjoy!
