Course description:
The Bhagavad Gita is a message of divine wisdom addressed to mankind for all times, in order to help human beings face and solve the ever-present problems of birth and death, of pain, suffering, fear, bondage, love, and hate. It enables man to liberate himself from all limiting factors and reach a state of perfect balance, inner stability, and mental peace, complete freedom from grief, fear, and anxiety. Human drama is revealed within the Bhagavad Gita’s eighteen chapters. This is the experience of everyone in this world, the drama of the ascent of man from a state of hopelessness, utter dejection, sorrow, and total breakdown, to a state of perfect understanding, clarity, renewed strength, and triumph.
Krishna tells Arjuna that it is very difficult to understand how He projects Himself as the universe and all its manifestations or how the One becomes the many.
Krishna goes on to describe the various qualities that beings manifest according to their Karmas and that all these qualities—wisdom, truth, contentment, etc.—originate from Him, or are His manifestations.
The true devotees of the Lord are granted the power of discrimination, the discrimination that leads them from the unreal to the Real. Krishna emphatically declares that ignorance is destroyed and knowledge gained through Divine Grace alone.
Lord Krishna describes to Arjuna His various vibhutis or glories that are manifest in creation by which Arjuna and all of us can recognise Him behind all these names and forms.
