What is Navaratri?

With the upcoming celebration of Navaratri, we invite you to take this opportunity to celebrate the Divine Feminine.

What is Navaratri?
Celebrated in October/November, Navaratri is a nine-day long festival honoring the Shakti (power) of the Divine Feminine aspects of God. It honors the role feminine energy plays in our lives - loving, compassionate, gentle and also sometimes powerful and fierce. During Navaratri, the goddess Durga is celebrated in all her forms and offered special prayers and sweets to bestow wealth, auspiciousness, prosperity, and knowledge upon us.

The celebration is sometimes divided into three parts. The first three days honor the remover of miseries in life in the form of Mother Durga. We pray for the destruction of impurities in our mind. The second set of three days invokes the Mother Lakshmi form of the divine to bestow spiritual abundance. The last three days celebrates the divine knowledge and feminine wisdom in the form of Mother Saraswati. We invoke the light of supreme wisdom from Saraswati. On the tenth day, the Day of Victory, we celebrate the victory of knowledge over ignorance.

As the nurturer and healer within all of us, including men and women, the Divine Feminine symbolizes receptivity, compassion, creativity, connection and love. Is there someone in your life you’d like to celebrate for their Divine Feminine aspects? Perhaps it’s your mother, sister, daughter or anyone who inspires you to trust your intuition and be present? Why not treat them to a holiday devoted to celebrating the Divine Feminine?

Navaratri presents a unique opportunity to express gratitude to the Divine Feminine in your life at one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Make plans now to join us for this special celebration.

“He cannot achieve anything without the Divine Mother’s blessings. So, sing Her praise and repeat Her Mantra and Name. Meditate on Her form. Do worship. Pray and obtain Her eternal Grace and blessings. May the Divine Mother bless you with all divine wealth!”
