Compassionate Dying

Rose Khalsa

In ancient cultures, it is understood that death is not to be feared, but rather understood as a rite of passage as one moves on to a new phase and their soul’s journey. Ceremonies to honor the deceased come in many forms, including celebrating the life of the deceased while acknowledging the grief of loved ones left behind. With decades of training and first hand experience having lost her two sons, Rose will share from her heart and guide you in understanding how to consciously prepare yourself for the inevitable passing of those you love and how support those who are preparing to cross over.

The three workshops will include meditations and journey work to access deeper spiritual awareness.

Workshop 1: Transforming Fear into Death and Rebirth – How do you support someone who is ready to die? We will explore tools that will support you and others for preparing for death.  We will examine the power of forgiveness and releasing old resentments in the shamanic tradition through working with an ancestor.
Workshop 2: The Phowa Practice. In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Phowa is considered the most valuable and effective practice for death. The word “phowa” means the transference of consciousness into the state of truth. We will learn how to do this for ourselves and others. You can also do this remotely to support someone who is dying.
Workshop 3: How to support those who need to pass over the Rainbow Bridge, to the West Gate. We will learn how to work with our “spirit teacher” to help someone who is “stuck” or “lost” to reach their ancestors on the other side. This is a powerful tool of deep compassion.
Rose is honored to share these profound practices and traditions with all who attend.
Offered as 2 satsangs and 3 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with a 90-minute noon workshop on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay. We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your program for the optimal experience.
