Program Proposals
Thank you for your interest in presenting a program at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas.
Our tropical island paradise and serene spiritual environment provide the ideal sanctuary for practice, rest, and rejuvenation. We offer a rare combination of traditional ashram and modern yoga retreat, providing an immersion into a classical yoga tradition and yogic lifestyle. Additionally, we host hundreds of courses, trainings, talks, performances, and special events each year with highly regarded teachers within the Sivananda lineage as well as guest teachers, presenters, and performers.
The majority of our programs come from research conducted by our Program Department and by referrals from our current and past presenters. We try to stay current on trends in the fields of yoga, meditation, health and healing, spirituality, and the creative arts; however, we’re always on the lookout for new program offerings and welcome unsolicited proposals.
Potential presenters should be leading practitioners, published authors, spiritual leaders, scholars, and musicians with established reputations. We are especially interested in presenters who are experienced in leading retreats, teaching courses, or performing before a large audience, and who have an appreciation of the benefit of presenting in an ashram setting. Indeed, many of our visiting faculty savor the time they spend at the Ashram and ask to be invited again. Additionally, we are looking for presenters who are able to demonstrate their ability to market themselves successfully through a variety of methods such as websites, mailing lists, and social media.
For nearly 50 years, we have been a leading destination for people seeking a spiritual environment to study and practice yoga and develop a healthy lifestyle.
We offer hundreds of courses and professional trainings a year on a variety of yoga and yoga-related topics, including integrated health, nutrition, spiritual studies, and sacred practices, as well as trainings in the healing arts and yoga teaching.
Experiential Courses and Professional Trainings are usually presented by highly accomplished teachers. They are designed to inspire and train students to become skilled teachers and practitioners and provide ancient and modern knowledge in an environment which supports learning and growth. Courses have specific start and end dates and meet daily.
We welcome more than 200 distinguished presenters each year through our Yoga Vacation Program. They are spiritual teachers of different traditions, scientists, healers, religious leaders, authors, and musicians, each one a jewel in their discipline. These presenters offer experiential workshops, musical events, spiritual teachings and rituals, holiday programs, special events, and participate in symposia on important topics.
The Yoga Vacation Program offers the perfect balance between activity and leisure time, and provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce topics to the entire population of the Ashram during satsangs (community gatherings) and afternoon workshops. Yoga Vacation Programs can explore a topic in detail or provide an introduction to the presented subject.
Symposia & Festivals are vibrant, special events, blessed with spirit-lifting energies in which one topic is explored in-depth by a group of leading experts on the presented topic.
We appreciate clear, succinct proposals related to the program topics described. We will do our best to confirm receipt of your proposal as soon as possible. If there is interest in your proposal, someone from the Program Department will contact you. At that time, you may be asked to submit further information, including copies of your videos, CDs, or books.
