Robert Micha’el Esformes, ordained as Hazzan (Cantor) by the venerable Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi in the lineage of Jewish Renewal, has served as prayer leader, concert performer, counselor, educator and teacher of meditation for many years. He has performed and taught at congregations, retreat centers, concert venues and colleges throughout the US, and his international engagements have taken him (on four occasions) as far across the globe as Australia and New Zealand. Michael brings to his teaching and performing not only a rich voice and soulful presence, but broad experience in the mystical path and a love of ecumenical conversation.
