David Estes is the lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of Ananda Rasa, a kirtan band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. David grew up in India and spent years immersed in the practices of mantra chanting, meditation, and service as a full-time ashram resident. His style in Ananda Rasa is rooted in traditional Sanskrit chants and mantras sung to original Indian raga melodies, exploring the ecstatic and mystical moods of Bhakti in call-and-response chanting.
