Why do you do what you do?

It’s my passion and what makes me feel most connected to the spiritual world. I greatly appreciate the practices of yoga and meditation, but sacred singing/chanting for me is always the most direct connection.

What are you currently fascinated by in your work?

I love traveling the world and seeing you so many different people from different backgrounds, lifestyles, religions, and beliefs are called to the spiritual path. And I love to see how the true spiritual path makes no judgement of character as long as one is willing and able to follow the truth.

How did you come to your path? Any aha moments or key teachers?

I was born to spiritual parents in a community where singing together was a very important part of life. So even though I went on my own path as a young person, I never strayed too far from the path of spiritual song and chanting.

What books are you currently reading?

Never have been much of a reader, but I love observing nature and especially right now the redwood forests after the rains is my favorite chapter…

What do you like about presenting at the ashram?

I think what surprised me the most as a diverse spiritual singer not necessarily focused on kirtan, was people’s openness at the ashram to different languages, songs, and forms of expression within the divine focus and spiritual genre. I came expecting to stick to more mantra chanting, but I realized people really appreciated and honored the diversity of spiritual expression. Thank you!
