The Path to Awakening

Mahayana Buddhist Philosophy and Meditation Practices for Personal Wellbeing and Harmonious Living with compassion and wisdom.

Tsering Ngodup Yodsampa
Tuition: $475

In the 11th century, the great Indian master Atisha was invited to Tibet to restore the clarity and authenticity of the Buddha’s teachings. From this mission emerged the revered Seven Points of Mind Training (Lojong) — a treasury of practical wisdom designed to transform everyday challenges into opportunities for awakening.

In this compelling retreat, you will explore these timeless teachings as living practices for modern life. Accessible to people of all backgrounds, the training offers powerful methods to work skillfully with thoughts, emotions, and reactions, cultivating compassion, resilience, and clarity. Long before modern psychology, these Indo-Tibetan contemplative practices revealed how the mind can be trained to reduce suffering and uncover deep well-being — insights now echoed by contemporary science.

These teachings serve as a map to the “jewel within” — your innate Buddha Nature, or Divine Presence. By learning to meet both adversity and good fortune with awareness, you can step off the exhausting cycle of stress and reactivity, transforming life itself into a path of growth and awakening.

Presented by an experienced spiritual care provider and meditation teacher, this course is offered not only as philosophy but as embodied practice, creating a calm, supportive atmosphere for genuine inner change.

Benefits of attending:

  • Discover your innate wisdom and compassion (Buddha Nature)
  • Learn practical methods to stay centered in overwhelming situations
  • Transform limiting patterns into pathways for clarity, balance, and inner freedom

Leave empowered with tools to meet life with openness, steadiness, and a compassionate heart.

We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of this course and stay until at least one day after the course ends for the optimal experience.

Tsering Ngodup Yodsampa is a Tibetan Buddhist lama (Dharma teacher), authorized to teach by HH Kunsig Shamar Rinpoche, lineage holder of the 900 year old Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. He has worked with people of all backgrounds and at all stages of life as an interfaith hospital chaplain, hospice spiritual caregiver, and teacher of Cognitively Based Compassion Training (CBCT)

Born in Tibet, his early years were shaped by the challenges of displacement, as his family fled the Chinese occupation, seeking refuge in Nepal and India. Under the direction of HH the Dalai Lama, he was able to receive an education in India that was offered to Tibetan children in diaspora. He developed a deep commitment to preserving Tibetan culture and language and sharing our unique spiritual traditions.

He taught Tibetan language, culture, and religion and served as an interpreter for Tibetan Buddhist meditation masters and scholars in Germany and across Europe. In 2000, he came to the United States under the spiritual direction of HH Shamar Rinpoche. His role was to translate and teach Buddhist philosophy and meditation, which remains central to his life’s work.

Over the years, his journey has been shaped by a dedication to bridging spiritual wisdom with compassionate care. He is the founder and spiritual director of the Bodhi Tree Institute for Tibetan Buddhist Study and Practice, where he guides meditation and study groups focused on the Mahayana path.
