During this retreat we will focus on targeted yoga practices to strengthen bones frequently affected by osteoporosis-related fractures. Additionally, we’ll explore lifestyle adjustments and dietary adjustments that support optimal bone health. By embracing these holistic practices, you’ll fortify your bones and cultivate overall well-being. Most importantly, you’ll depart with a personalized practice, empowering you to maintain bone health and improve density at home.

Bid farewell to anxieties over DEXA scan results and embrace vitality and resilience. Join “Strong Bones for Life” to equip yourself with tools and knowledge for enduring bone health. Yoga teachers can earn 16 Continuing Education (CE) credits accredited by Yoga Alliance.

Please note:

Open to all, no prior yoga experience required; complete an Online Yoga Therapy Application.

Consult your healthcare practitioner if you have severe chronic conditions or are on medication.

Recommended yoga props: yoga strap (bring yours or buy in the boutique), yoga block (bring yours or buy in the boutique), folding chair (provided by the ashram).

Gauri Devi (Marta Shedletsky), C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, is an experienced Sivananda Yoga teacher, Certified Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT), and a Yoga Therapist. Trained by Tara Rachel Jones (Omkari), she’s been leading and co-leading children, youth, and family programs in Sivananda ashrams in The Bahamas and Woodbourne, NY since 2016. Being a mother of two, and working with youth and children in her daily life, Gauri Devi is able to connect with her young students with playfulness, creativity, and ease.
Marta is also a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), Marta specializes in bone health and osteoporosis prevention. Based in Westchester County, NY, she offers private yoga therapy sessions and conducts bone health classes at Westchester Community College, local nursing homes, and community centers. As the Founder of Mushika Wellness Solutions, LLC, Marta’s deep commitment to promoting bone health and osteoporosis prevention is unwavering. She’s been trained by Dr. Loren Fishman in his Yoga vs. Osteoporosis method. She is dedicated to educating people on natural ways to reverse and prevent osteoporosis while improving bone health.

Daily Schedule (subject to change):

Your course schedule has been designed by the presenter to provide a holistic educational experience, and includes course presentation time, meal times, and free time for you to enjoy the beach and the grounds and participate in the ashram’s daily programs.

Morning and Evening Satsang: community gatherings for meditation, chanting & teachings; sometimes a silent beach walk.

Yoga Asana & Pranayama Classes: available on outdoor ocean and bayfront platforms (beginner and intermediate levels offered twice daily).
