Join us for a devotional 4-day immersion into the teachings and transformative energy of Goddess Durga through Durga Suktam chanting, kirtan, and sacred storytelling. Held in the spirit of Navaratri, this workshop invites participants to awaken inner strength, courage, clarity, and devotion through the power of mantra and collective spiritual practice.
Each 90-minute session includes guided chanting instruction, foundational Sanskrit pronunciation, reflections on the deeper meaning of the Durga Suktam, and uplifting kirtan dedicated to the Divine Mother. Through story, song, and shared practice, participants will explore Durga as both a symbol of divine protection and an inner source of strength and resilience.
Accessible to all levels, this workshop offers a supportive introduction to Vedic chanting while deepening connection to bhakti yoga and the sacred energy of Navaratri. Over four days, participants will gradually build confidence in chanting the Durga Suktam and experience the joy and power of devotional community practice.

This program is part of the Retreat Leader Program, which supports Sivananda TTC graduates in growing as leaders and introducing their communities to the ashram through an authentic, guided retreat experience.

Deepa Krishnan retired from a successful career in financial services to devote herself fully to the study and practice of Yoga and Vedanta. She completed both the Teacher Training Course and Advanced Teacher Training Course at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat and has continued to deepen her study of Vedic chanting, Sanskrit pronunciation, and Vedantic philosophy.
Deepa studies Vedic chanting under the guidance of Shantala Sriramaiah, whose teachings have inspired her dedication to precision, sacred sound, and the contemplative spirit of chanting. Her teaching style is thoughtful, accessible, and grounded in tradition, with an emphasis on clarity, devotion, and inner connection.
Through chanting, kirtan, and storytelling, Deepa creates a welcoming space where both beginners and experienced practitioners can deepen their understanding of mantra, bhakti, and the transformative energy of the Divine Mother.
