Yoga Vacation Program
April 25 — 28, 2027

Healing with Herbs

for Physical and Emotional Health

Brigitte Mars

Plants have always been our first teachers and healers. In this experiential program you will discover how food and herbs can become trusted allies for both body and mind—supporting vitality, resilience, and inner balance.

Together, we will explore the abundant plant life growing right here at the Sivananda Ashram, learning to recognize the edible and medicinal gifts often overlooked as “weeds.” Through an immersive herb walk around the beautiful ashram grounds, you’ll develop practical skills in identifying, harvesting, and preserving plants with care and reverence for the Earth.

We will also journey beyond our local landscape to explore medicinal plants used across cultures for thousands of years. Learn natural ways to support energy and immunity, respond to common first-aid needs, ease pain and insomnia, and nourish memory, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. Herbs will be explored not only as medicine, but also as food, comfort, and daily companions for a holistic life.

What makes this program unique is its blend of ancient wisdom and hands-on practice—bridging traditional herbal knowledge with simple, accessible applications you can bring into everyday life.

Benefits of attending include:

  • Greater confidence and preparedness in emergency or first-aid situations
  • The ability to identify and use local plants as powerful allies
  • Time-tested remedies that support health while saving money
  • A deeper connection to nature and a more conscious relationship with the Earth

Leave inspired, empowered, and reconnected—to the healing intelligence of plants and to your own innate capacity for self-care and stewardship.

Offered as 3 satsangs and 3 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with a noon workshop on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay.
