Elise Browning Miller, M.A. in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of North Carolina, is a trailblazer in the world of yoga and therapeutic practices. A Senior Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) and certified member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT), Elise brings unparalleled expertise and passion to her work.

With a teaching career spanning nearly five decades, Elise has inspired and guided students across the United States and internationally since 1976. As the founding director of the California Yoga Center in Mountain View, CA, she has built a legacy of empowering others through yoga. Elise specializes in addressing scoliosis and a variety of back-related issues, offering transformative workshops, classes, and private consultations.

Eliseā€™s own journey with scoliosis has been a testament to the power of yoga. She has successfully harnessed its potential to manage and minimize the effects of her condition, and she shares this knowledge with compassion and expertise. Based in Carmel, CA, Elise sees clients privately in Mountain View, Carmel, and online, helping individuals find relief, balance, and strength through tailored yoga practices.

She has produced the books, Yoga for Scoliosis ā€“ A Path for Students & Teachers and
Yoga Anytime, Anywhere and 2 booklets, Yoga for Scoliosis and Yoga for Back Care.
Also, she has available on streaming, Yoga for Scoliosis DVD and Intermediate Yoga in Fiji DVD.

Your course schedule has been designed by the presenter to provide a holistic educational experience, and includes course presentation time, meal times, and free time for you to enjoy the beach and the grounds and participate in the ashramā€™s daily programs.
Morning and Evening Satsang: community gatherings for meditation, chanting & teachings; sometimes a silent beach walk.

*Yoga Asana & Pranayama Classes: available on outdoor ocean and bayfront platforms (beginner and intermediate levels offered twice daily).
