Sakthivel Murugaanandhan is a leading percussionist, specializing in the mridanga, a South Indian percussion instrument. A disciple of Maayavaram Shri G. Somasundaram and Thiruvaarur Shri Bhakthavatsalam, Shaktivel also received special training specifically to accompany dance under Sri. M. Baalachandar. His sought-after talent has led him to tour the world extensively for more than 35 years, accompanying leading dancers and musicians alike.
