Guy Beck, PhD, produced the first full-length studies of sacred sound and music in Hindu theology and ritual, Sonic Theology: Hinduism and Sacred Sound and Sonic Liturgy: Ritual and Music in Hindu Tradition. Additionally, he edited the first anthology of world sacred music in Sacred Sound: Experiencing Music in World Religions. His fieldwork in the holy temples of Mathura and Vrindaban, India, led to the publication of a book and multiple CD collection of beautiful Bhakti songs. Dr. Beck resides in New Orleans and teaches Hinduism and music at Tulane University. He frequently performs Indian classical music and lectures on Nada Yoga in the U.S. and abroad, and in 2015, received a Fulbright-Nehru Academic Excellence Award for his work in Indian music.
