Satsanga means to sit in the company of truth, wisdom, and goodness. Sitting in satsanga emphasizing the importance of being with your teachers and fellow spiritual aspirants. In the Sivananda ashrams around the world, satsang is held twice daily for all guests, staff, and residents of the ashram. Satsangs include a group sitting meditation, chanting, prayers, and spiritual discourse. Attending these satsangs is both a discipline and a gift.
Satsanga brings many blessings to those who participate. In this program you’ll learn the importance of satsanga, as well as how to create your own support system or spiritual community at home. Creating your own version of satsang in your own community supports you on your spiritual path. The more support you have, the deeper you can plunge into your spiritual practice and achieve success.

Parvati Chaitanya is a senior staff member of the ashram with many years of experience teaching, studying, and practicing yoga. She currently serves the ashram as caretaker of the gardens.
