Pranayama: Back to Basics

Swami Shambhudevananda

Pranayama is one of the most potent practices in the Hatha Yoga tradition. Prana is the Life Energy that animates every function and every system of the body. Once we learn how to balance and harmonize Prana, all of its manifestations are synchronized, and it allows us to feel complete and whole in the Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Many people learn to approach the Pranayama (Yogic Breathing Techniques) in a technical manner, which can feel as though breathwork is a struggle. But the breath is just a medium that allows us to approach Prana, and through it, the Mind on a subtle level.

We will learn how to transform our approach and relationship with the breath. We will learn how to create a deep and intimate relationship with each inhalation and exhalation, and especially with each retention. We will find how the breath nourishes us with energy, eventually leading us to access the cosmic ocean of the Divine Life Force

We will go back to the basics, and see how the right approach can unlock for us the treasures of this ancient mystic practice.

Offered as 2 satsangs and 2 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with a noon workshop on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay.
