Music is a way to directly connect with God. Often when there is the creation of music with an instrument, it is a form of praying. Playing music is also a form of meditation — and a way of connecting to the divine in a melodious and beautiful way.
Join us for a moving musical journey led by Omar Faruk Tekbilek, a multifaceted musician specializing in music from Turkey and the Middle East. His music embodies “unity in diversity” and transcends political boundaries, showing that the paths are many but God is one. He is joined by accomplished musicians Chris Rosser (keyboards), River Guerguerian (percussion), and Murat Tekbilek (percussion).
Omar treats music as a form of contemplation, offering answers to himself and others as he plays. “When I play, I leave a corner for God. I believe we should have direct contact with God,” he says. “This is the beauty of music.”
Offered as 2 satsangs and 2 workshops (subject to change)
