LifeForce Yoga for Depression and Anxiety

Accessible Practices to Manage Your Mood

Amy Weintraub

Are you thrown off balance by current events, or the actions of others? Do
circumstances of daily life disturb your peace and joy? Do you serve others whose
moods shift into depression or anxiety? If you checked any or all those boxes, this
program is for you. Learn ways to shift your mood into a steady state of balance and
acceptance and general well-being, no matter what life brings. LifeForce Yoga’s
accessible formula blends modern science with ancient wisdom for managing
depression and anxiety.

You will come away feeling refreshed, renewed, and excited about incorporating new
tools into your home, teaching, or clinical practice to bring balance to the emotional and
physical body.

You’ll Learn and Practice:

  • Pranayama and kriya (breathing techniques) that regulate the emotions
  • Meditations that lift the mood
  • Sankalpa (affirmations)
  • Bhavana (guided visualizations)
  • Mantras (tones) that manage the emotions
  • Mudras (hand gestures) that affect different areas of the chakra system and
    the body
  • Accessible Yoga Asanas suitable for all levels, including beginners

Health professionals and Yoga teachers will learn techniques not regularly taught in
Yoga classes to help their clients focus, relax, and have greater access to their feelings.

Offered as 1 satsang and 3 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with a 90-minute 2pm workshop on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay. We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your program for the optimal experience.

Although best known as a yoga therapist for books and teachings on Yoga and mental
health, including Yoga for Depression (Harmony Books), Yoga Skills for Therapists
(W.W. Norton), and Yoga for Your Mood Deck (Sounds True/MacMillan), Amy’s
passion, from an early age has been writing fiction like her novel Temple Dancer
(Tumamoc Press). This means that given the rejections a creative writer faces, and her
history of childhood trauma, she suffered from depression; that is until she began a daily
yoga practice in the late 80’s.

She founded the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute in 2004, because she is passionate about sharing the practices that saved her life with health care and yoga professionals, thousands of whom she’s trained to integrate yoga-based practices into their healing work. Currently, she teaches Internal Family Systems (IFS) combined with LifeForce Yoga and offers mental health modules in yoga therapy trainings. She thrives in Tucson,
