Jyotish: What's Your Dharma, Why all the Karma?

Laura Plumb

“The first cause of suffering is Avidya — forgetting our true nature.”
~ Yoga Sutra 2.2–3

Yoga teaches that suffering begins when we forget who we truly are. Yet what if every challenge, every karma, is not a punishment — but a precise and intelligent movement guiding us back to our dharma, our deepest purpose?

In this illuminating program, you’ll explore the profound wisdom of Jyotish — the Vedic science of light — a sister science to Yoga and Ayurveda. Far more than astrology, Jyotish is a sacred map of the soul. It reveals your innate gifts, life lessons, evolutionary path, and the deeper intelligence shaping your journey.

Through teachings on karma and dharma within the vision of cosmic unity, you’ll discover how life’s patterns serve your awakening. When understood through the lens of Jyotish, obstacles become opportunities, and destiny becomes a pathway to self-realization. This rarely offered vidya (sacred knowledge) powerfully supports spiritual practice by deepening self-awareness and aligning you with your inherent radiance.

Benefits of attending:

  • Be inspired by the extraordinary intelligence and harmony woven into the universe
  • Gain insight into your karma and dharma as pathways to freedom
  • Experience your interconnectedness with cosmic order — and recognize the light you truly are

Leave with greater clarity, reverence for your life’s design, and renewed trust in the luminous unfolding of your soul’s purpose.

Offered as 3 satsangs and 2 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with an 8pm satsang on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay.
