On the Guru

Swami Brahmananda

Every committed spiritual aspirant needs a teacher, or a guru. In yoga philosophy, the relationship between the aspirant and the guru is considered sacred. The scripture, Guru Gita, describes the guru as the “dispeller of darkness.” The guru, through his own self-mastery and experiential understanding of God, is uniquely qualified to lead the seeker along the spiritual path, lighting the way through the darkness and the unknown.

The guru-disciple relationship is based in unconditional love and wisdom. It is the guru’s duty to elevate the disciple to his own level of realization. In this program, you’ll learn about the principles of the guru, as well as about the role of the disciple. For success in the divine path, a teacher is necessary for the student’s attainment of peace, freedom, and bliss.

Offered as 3 satsangs (subject to change)
