Based on one of the many books written by Swami Sivananda, How to Cultivate Virtues and Eradicate Vices, the teachings of this program focus on ways to strengthen character and achieve the best results for yourself in this life. Swami Sivananda emphasized that spirituality and morality go hand-in-hand and that spiritual aspirants must develop their own characters to truly advance on the spiritual path.
Some of the many virtues Swami Sivananda encourages aspirants to cultivate are ahimsa (nonviolence), adaptability, cheerfulness, compassion, friendship, generosity, and moderation. Vices include anger, anxiety, fault-finding, fear, and pessimism. Not only will you learn about the causes of common vices, but you will also learn practical yogic techniques to cultivate all your desired virtues.
