Becoming Real

A Transformative Retreat for Turbulent Times

Keri Mangis
Tuition: $395

The Velveteen Rabbit always longed to become real. Before he could, however, he was dragged through the mud and had the literal stuffing squeezed out of him. It wasn’t an easy path.

Becoming real is no easy path for stuffed rabbits—and it might be even more challenging for us humans. Especially when the world keeps offering us more comfortable shelves to sit on, more ways to stay numb, more reasons to stay tidy and safe.

Our world is asking something of us right now that no self-help book, productivity hack, or positive mindset practice can answer. Are we ready to transform into the kind of human who can hold the weight of these times?

Drawing on the ancient framework of alchemy, author and teacher Keri Mangis guides participants through three alchemical stages of deep personal transformation—Nigredo, Albedo, and Rubedo: the necessary breakdown of what no longer serves us; the space and time for reflection and reassessment; and the integration of all the pieces of ourselves into a cohesive whole.

Through teaching, guided reflection, journaling, and community, we shed our conditioning, reclaim what has been lost, and discover what remains when the inherited layers fall away.

All levels welcome.

We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of this course and stay until at least one day after the course ends for the optimal experience.

Keri Mangis is a TEDx speaker and multi-award-winning author with over twenty years of study and practice in yoga, Ayurveda, alchemy, Jungian psychology, and archetypes. Her work stands at the crossroads of culture, consciousness, and transformation, bringing depth, nuance, and urgency to the inner journey. She is a passionate advocate for the kind of transformation that goes beyond self-improvement — the deep alchemical work of dissolving what is inherited and reclaiming what is true.

Her 2026 book, The Essential Ingredient: Remaking Ourselves in Times of Crisis, is a bold exploration of how breakdown can serve as a portal to renewal—personally and collectively—and a rallying call for evolving human consciousness.
