Accessible Yoga: Adapt Your Practice, Empower Your Life
Yoga isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence, self-awareness, and meeting your body with compassion. This uplifting program is designed for anyone seeking a more accessible approach to yoga, whether you’re navigating mobility challenges, recovering from injury, dealing with a tender back, or simply looking for a gentler way to practice. It’s also ideal for anyone curious about how to modify postures today to support long-term vitality.
Each morning from 8–10 am, you’ll begin with a 75-minute yoga class that emphasizes listening to your body, honoring your limits, and learning to adapt every posture for your unique needs. The physical practices will primarily take place on a mat, with the first class including options for chair and standing postures to ease you into the experience. This is not about doing less—it’s about doing what’s right for you.
Following each class, enjoy an engaging and practical discussion on yoga philosophy and healthy living. You’ll explore how to modify foundational postures like Sun Salutations and the Sivananda sequence for different levels of ability—including variations using a chair or removing pressure from sensitive joints. You’ll also dive into the deeper teachings of yoga: the 4 Paths of Yoga, the 8 Limbs of Raja Yoga, and how these timeless insights can support physical adaptation, mental flexibility, and emotional balance.
Along the way, you’ll be reminded that yoga is for every body, at every stage of life. You’ll leave with renewed confidence, powerful tools for self-care, and a deeper sense of connection to your practice and your path.

Anjaneya, Michael Hutkins, is a yoga teacher, trainer and yoga therapist, living in Cantley, Quebec. Studying at several Sivananda ashrams in Canada, the USA and India has allowed Anjaneya to live with his teachers and be fully immersed in the yoga experience.
He first became interested in chair yoga when sharing yoga with his grandparents and this motivated him to learn more about it and begin sharing chair yoga in retirement homes and long term care facilities as well as with corporate clients.
Through teaching traditional yoga classes Anjaneya also observed that many students needed adaptations to make the practice more accessible. Studying with many experienced teachers, he learned to adapt the practice to all students, from minor modifications to large adaptations due to more severe injuries or limitation without losing the essence of the practice. Now Anjaneya is happy to share his 20 years of teaching and training experience with you.
