In these times, it can be difficult to find calm as the world spins around us. The constant motion of life often brings up deeply held beliefs and experiences, especially for those who have navigated trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life stressors. Are you ready to step out of survival mode and step into a life of profound peace, creativity, and connection?
We have designed this 4-day retreat to offer a relaxing, quiet space for you to pause, learn, and rewire your mind and body to establish a profoundly loving relationship with the SELF.
Set in a beautiful, relaxed environment at the Ashram—a true spiritual safe haven from the outside world—this immersion provides an exceptionally safe, transformative container to help you come home to your heart.
The Intersection of Bhakti Yoga & Neuroscience
Trauma, stress, and burnout do not just live in our thoughts—they become embedded in our nervous system and our physical bodies. True healing requires us to address both the mind and the body in tandem, rooted always in a foundation of physical and emotional safety.
Bhakti Yoga represents directing all our actions toward the spiritual divine. Through this sincere path of devotion, we open our hearts to more love through active engagement in practices like chanting (kirtan), prayer, and meditation.
In this retreat, we pair this ancient path of spiritual liberation with the cutting-edge science of neuroplasticity, positive psychology, and trauma-informed somatic healing. Together, Dr. Nicole and Dr. Kathleen create a holistic map for your healing journey: mind, body and spirit.
Evening at the Ashram: Each evening, you are invited to participate in guided chanting and the Ashram’s traditional Bhakti and prayer practices (Satsang). These powerful communal gatherings enlighten the spirit and create a greater sense of liberation and peace before you rest.
We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of this course and stay until at least one day after the course ends for the optimal experience.

She has a history of teaching on both the graduate and undergraduate levels and has several focuses over the years, including feminist theories and trauma. Most recently, Kathleen has been training in Shamanic healings, integrating this into her repertoire of healing modalities.
