Terms & Conditions

By participating in this Program, supporters agree to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined below.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  • “Ashram” refers to the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas.
  • “Program” refers to the TTC Referral Program governed by these terms.
  • “Referrer” refers to an eligible supporter of the Ashram who submits a referral.
  • “Referee” refers to the prospective student introduced to the TTC by the Referrer.
  • “Referral Credit” refers to the $250 credit awarded to the Referrer under the conditions set forth herein.

2. Program Overview & Summary

Program Parameter Details
Reward Amount $250 USD Credit
Eligible Target Program Teacher Training Course (TTC)
Submission Method Direct email to [email protected]
Completion Requirement Referee’s full completion of TTC
Program Duration Ongoing, until modified or discontinued by the Ashram

3. Eligibility Requirements

3.1 Referrer Eligibility

To qualify as a Referrer, an individual must:

  • Be a supporter, past student, or friend of the Ashram in good standing, meaning the Referrer has no outstanding disputes, unresolved policy violations, or active suspensions with the Ashram at the time of referral submission and credit issuance.
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of referral submission.
  • Not be a current Ashram staff member or TTC teacher.

3.2 Referee Eligibility

To qualify as a Referee, an individual must:

  • Be a prospective student registering for the TTC.
  • Not be the Referrer themselves, or an immediate family member of the Referrer (including spouse, parent, child, or sibling).
  • Be officially named by the Referrer in a direct email to [email protected] before the Referee submits any registration or payment for the TTC. By submitting this email, the Referrer confirms they have the Referee’s permission to share the Referee’s name and contact information with the Ashram for purposes of this Program, and acknowledges that the Ashram may contact the Referee as part of the referral and enrollment process.
  • Complete the TTC and receive the official TTC certificate.

4. Qualifying Referral Process & Credit Issuance

  1. Email Submission: The Referrer must send an email to [email protected] containing the full name of the Referee, submitted before the Referee registers or makes any payment. Where multiple Referrers name the same Referee, the Referral Credit will be awarded to whichever qualifying email was received first, as determined by the Ashram’s records.
  2. Qualifying Completion: The Referee must enroll in the TTC and fully complete the course. Tuition payment alone does not qualify the Referrer for the credit.
  3. Credit Issuance: Upon verification of the Referee’s full completion of the TTC, a $250 Referral Credit will be issued to the Referrer’s Ashram account within 14 business days. If the Referrer does not have an existing Ashram account, the Ashram will contact the Referrer to establish one, or arrange an alternative method of issuing the credit.
  4. Scholarships & Other Discounts: If the Referee receives a scholarship or a full-tuition discount for the TTC, the associated Referral Credit will not be issued. Referees receiving other, partial discounts do not affect the Referrer’s eligibility for the full Referral Credit.
  5. Program Disruption: If the Ashram cancels or postpones the TTC session for which the Referee is registered, the Referrer’s eligibility will carry over: the Referral Credit will still be awarded if the Referee subsequently enrolls in and completes a rescheduled or later session.

5. Credit Terms, Withdrawals & Adjustments

  • Usage & Expiration: Referral Credits are valid for 2 years from the date of issue. Credits are subject to the Ashram’s standard credit policies, available at: https://sivanandabahamas.org/flexible-cancellation-policy/. This does not include the credit’s validity period but does include the transferability and redemption terms. Referrers should consult the linked policy for the most current terms, as it may be updated from time to time.
  • No Cash Value: Referral Credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, but may be transferred in accordance with the Ashram’s standard credit policy linked above.
  • Cancellations: In the event the Referee withdraws prior to completing the TTC, or receives a refund for the TTC, the associated $250 Referral Credit will not be issued or, if already issued, will be revoked.
  • Fraud & Abuse: The Ashram reserves the right to deny, withhold, or reverse any Referral Credit obtained through fraudulent, false, or manipulated referral submissions, including but not limited to fabricated referee names, circumvention of the eligibility requirements, or collusion between parties.
  • Tax Responsibility: Referrers are solely responsible for determining and satisfying any tax obligations that may arise from receiving a Referral Credit.

6. Program Rights & Administration

  • The Ashram reserves the right to review referral submissions and make eligibility determinations at its sole discretion.
  • The Ashram reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Program at any time. Any such changes will apply prospectively only and will not affect Referral Credits already earned under the terms in effect at the time of a qualifying referral.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
