Ayurveda for Cooling the Flames of Summer

Strategies for Pacifying Pitta

Sandhiya Ramaswamy

Come discover Ayurvedic strategies for pacifying Pitta to feel more cool and calm in body and mind. Just as the Doshas (Ayurvedic constitutional archetypes) govern our constitution, they govern the seasons as well. Summer (hot in most places) is Pitta season (the hot, fiery archetype). Using the elegant yet powerful principle of “Opposites are the cure for Opposites”, learn effective Ayurvedic protocols – nourishment, lifestyle, 5 sense therapies and more, to antidote the imbalances arising due to the intense heat – to cool and calm, and harness your inner fire (Agni), for optimal health and well-being in the summer months.

While we all benefit from these cooling summer Ayurveda practices, these protocols are even more important if you are someone who has a lot of fire (pitta) in your constitution or tend toward common pitta imbalances such as skin rashes, anger and frustration, inflammation, and over-competitiveness. If you experience these or other pitta-related imbalances, these strategies are especially helpful to embrace during summer and beyond.

Offered as 2 satsangs and 2 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with an 8pm satsang on the first day of the program and conclude with a 90-minute noon workshop on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay. We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your program for the optimal experience.
