Taming the Mind

Ambika Devi

Ancient cultures have known the healing power of sound for centuries. The great books speak of a sound that began what we perceive as this existence. A sound just like a smell, can induce an instant reaction. To engage the full power of chanting a given mantra मन्त्र is to practice a transcendental form of Yoga. Therefore, these sacred utterances can be considered mysterious invocations designed to shift the energy of the practitioner, those listening, the local environment, and the totality of the reality perceived around us. Together we shall experiment with the seeds of our primordial sound and experience the power of breath and our voices. Each session concludes with a short Yoga Nidra-style guided meditation to ground the teachings of the day.

Offered as 3 workshops (subject to change).

The presentations associated with this Yoga Vacation Program begin with a 90-minute 2 pm workshop on the first day of the program and conclude with a 90-minute noon workshop on the last day of the program.  Click here to read more about the Yoga Vacation Program details and view the ashram schedule for yoga classes and meals during your stay. We suggest you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your program for the optimal experience.
