“If there is a problem and a solution, there is no need to worry. If there
is a problem and no solution, there is no point to worry. So, really there
is no problem.”
Shantideva 8th Century Buddhist Indian Nalanda Master
This insight still has the power to help us cultivate awareness and peace of mind today in the 21st Century. How? By using our capacity for analytical insight combined with calm, abiding meditation we are led swiftly to identify how to let go and become free.
All living creatures are alike in wanting happiness and wanting to avoid suffering. So why is it we encounter so much difficulty in our inner and outer world these days? How can we practice awareness? What is real peace? How do we cultivate positive states of mind that lead to it? Why is it so beneficial to gain awareness of clear presence of mind? Because this method using wisdom and compassion leads to lasting happiness.
Venerable Tenzin Dasel will offer training in calm, abiding, and analytical meditation to increase the power of our awareness and strengthen our good heart. In Tibetan Buddhism these are foundational practices to cultivate peace and presence of mind. This down-to-earth, wise, and compassionate approach to life challenges we are certain to face leads us to understand deeply how to embrace everything as part of the sacred journey of waking up.
Analytical meditation leads to reasonable responses to discover that peace of mind has been there all along. Calm, abiding, single-pointed meditation lends stability, clarity, and expansive awareness in which experience unfolds. We can learn to cultivate rational and positive states of mind. We shall discover much freedom, joy and laughter in this approach. As we learn to embrace our journey by opening inwardly to stability grounded in awareness, life becomes more radiant, clear, and blissful.
