Continuing Education & Professional Credits

The Yoga Retreat offers a unique learning experience for participants, combining instruction with an immersion into the daily practice of a Yogic lifestyle. Individuals attending courses at the ashram are given the opportunity to apply the material gained from coursework through the support of the ashram environment.

Yoga Alliance Accreditation

The Yoga Alliance registers Yoga teachers who meet minimum U.S. teaching standards established by the organization’s founding members. The Alliance also provides support and recognition to registered Yoga teachers while honoring the diversity of all Yoga practices and upholding the integrity of Yoga. Additionally, The Yoga Alliance registers Yoga schools whose teacher training programs address those standards, ensuring graduates are well-qualified to teach the practicing public. The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat is a Yoga Alliance registered school.

Graduates of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat's Yoga Teacher Training Course can register as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200 hour level, RYT200.

Graduates of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat's Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course can register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 500 hour level, RYT500.

Continuing Education Units for Registered Yoga Teachers

Some certification courses offered by the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat fulfill the Yoga Alliance requirements for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and may be used by Registered Yoga Teachers as credit towards RYT500 accreditation. Visit www.yogaalliance.org for more information about CEUs.
