Start the day at 6 a.m. with the serenity of early morning meditation. The clear sea air and radiant dawn aid the mind to focus and the body to be still. Half an hour of silent meditation is followed by joyful chanting, a spiritual talk or reading, and closing prayers. Next at 8 a.m. comes an hour and a half session of asanas (yogic postures) and pranayama (yogic breathing techniques) that invigorates the body and mind. Brunch awaits at 10 a.m.
Create your own optimal afternoon schedule. Take an experiential workshop, attend a lecture or enjoy a healing art session. Study, swim, relax on the beach, or go snorkeling. Have a snack break at the Health Hut, meet new or old friends or take time to read a book in the tropical gardens.
Start the third part of your day with a 4 p.m. yoga class. Feel how your body achieves maximum stretch at this time and the great progress that can be made. Observe as your breath gets calmer and your mind clearer in the serenity of your afternoon practice. Dinner will await you at 6 p.m. After dinner, take an early evening walk on the beach, enjoying the beautiful sunset.
Satsang (meditation, chanting and talk) completes the day at 8 p.m. During the evening satsang we usually enjoy a concert, a dance performance or a talk by one of our special guests. Lights-off is around 10 p.m.
To maintain the atmosphere of the ashram, we request that all guests attend both satsangs and at least one asana class per day.
