Yoga is a path for healing, optimal wellness, mental peace, transformation, and spiritual growth that can benefit everyone, regardless of physical abilities. Chair Yoga is the single best way to adapt yoga so that all people gain the benefits of yoga practice, In this training, you will learn how to make yoga accessible to senior adults, persons with disabilities or limited mobility, the chronically ill, Alzheimer patients, pre- and post-surgery patients, and those recovering from injuries.
- Acquire tools to offer modified yoga postures in chairs in classes or private sessions
- Learn to offer seated and standing modifications in mixed-level classes as well as teach breathing, chanting, and meditation in chairs
- Discover how to market Chair Yoga classes to senior homes, community centers, hospitals, health clubs, veterans service organizations, corporations, and non-profits
This course is open to yoga teachers from all traditions as well as those who would like to learn Chair Yoga modifications for their own practice. Participants will receive a Chair Yoga teaching manual.
