The Ultimate Goal: Enlightenment, Salvation, Self Realization, or Something Else?

May 11 - 15, 2014

Description

In the wide, colorful spectrum of spirituality, each tradition describes the Ultimate Goal, upon which its devotees focus and toward which they aspire. How do these various goals relate to one another? Are they identical, or do they differ somewhat, or do they conflict with one another?

In this interfaith symposium, five teachers from the world’s great religions will each present the Ultimate Goal, as it is formulated within their own tradition. The participants in the symposium are: Daniel Matt (Judaism), Fr. Joseph Mitchell (Christianity), Alan Godlas (Islam), Swami Medhananda (Hinduism), Lama Rodney Devenish (Buddhism).
