Pain is both a common occurrence in yoga and the most common reason for individuals to seek out yoga as therapy. It is universal. Yet few take the time to think about what they think about pain. Is it inevitable? Does it differ based on its kosha of origin? Should we let pain guide our practice? Would we understand pain better if we compared it to other troublesome human experiences, like love?
Transformation in our self and in our students, will be enhanced with a stronger foundation of knowledge. Through this series of talks and workshops, Neil will share an integrated view of western science and Yoga, and teach pain care techniques based on Yoga, pain physiology, chronic pain, and the lived experience of people recovering from persistent pain conditions.
