Warriors at Ease: Teaching Yoga and Meditation in Military Settings: Part 1, 2A & 2B Teacher Training Course


Molly Asebey-Birkholm (Madhavi)

Molly (Madhavi) Asebey-Birkholm is an advanced Sivananda yoga teacher (RYT 500) and a certified Integrative Restoration (iRest) Instructor. She leads retreats, workshops and private yoga experiences on Yoga for Trauma.  She is the co-founder and director of the Yoga Center of Key Biscayne, an affiliated Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Key Biscayne, Florida.  She is also one of the co-founders of 'Warriors at Ease,' a non-profit organization that trains and certifies yoga and meditation teachers to teach in military communities.  She taught yoga and meditation for 4 years at the US Department of Veterans Affairs to over 1,000 war veterans.  Molly also helped conduct the 18-month US Department of Defense funded clinical research measuring the effects of iRest Yoga Nidra meditation on veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS).  She has four Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation CDs and an upcoming book.


Pat Lillis-Hearne

Pat Lillis-Hearne, MD, MPH, RYT is a Kripalu certified yoga instructor, an Oncologist and well versed in Complementary Medicine. She has had over 30 years service in the military before retiring from the Army Medical Department in 2010. Her combat experience in Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as the care of wounded veterans brings a unique perspective and talent to the program. Pat was one of the original co-developers of TYMS.

Annie Okerlin

Annie Okerlin, owner of Yogani Studios, Tampa is the president and founder of the Exalted Warrior Foundation. Since March of 2006, Annie and the EWF instructors have implemented an adaptive yoga program throughout major military medical and Veterans hospital facilities nationwide. Annie designed the program to support wounded populations including amputees, orthopedic poly-trauma, burn, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries as well as PTSD and depression.  Since 1999 Annie has been teaching and expanding her practice. She is currently enrolled in the iRest Yoga Nidra certification program and will be continuing through Level III.
