Ayyappa Puja

January 14, 2015

Join us as we celebrate Lord Ayyappa with a puja conducted by the ashram's Tantric priest.

Krishnan Namboodiri

Lord Ayyappa, the presiding supreme deity of Sabari Hills in India, was born out of the union between Mohini (the female form of Lord Vishnu) and Lord Siva. The word Shastha means one who controls or rules over the whole world. Mahashastha and Dharmashastha are other names by which the deity is known. He is described as the protector of Dharma.

Lord Ayyappa helps to destroy all low negative tendencies and maintains the pure sattvic nature in the seeker. Worshipping Him is said to bring contentment and spiritual advancement. He protects our spiritual wealth and power by maintaining the thought of godliness and destroys impure thoughts and gives us clarity.
