Visual Yoga is a beautifully artistic way to teach yoga through body movement, facial expressions and natural gestures.
This certification course is designed to educate and empower yoga teachers on the proper techniques, vocabulary and visual cues necessary when you have Deaf or Hard of Hearing yoga students.
Yoga Journal states there are some 34 million Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the U.S. and less than 40 yoga instructors fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). That means that there is a much greater probability that Deaf and Hard of Hearing people are participating in hearing yoga classes, making this training course a valuable resource for any yoga teacher.
During this course, gain the necessary tools to assist a Deaf or Hard of Hearing yoga student in your yoga class or one-on-one. You will learn about the Deaf and Hard of Hearing cultures, touch techniques for easy communication and a variety of other easy-to-incorporate visual tips to use during your yoga classes.
